Lodging a successful claim often requires time and money that new homeowners don’t have.
It’s why every new home we build includes a complimentary 12-month maintenance period in addition to your insurance.
If you encounter any construction defects after we’ve handed over the keys, we’ll fix them for you – at no extra cost and as soon as the right trades are free.

Every project is different. Size, location, the time of year you build, the availability of trades, and inclement weather can all affect how long it takes for us to deliver your home.
Generally, the initial stages of a project (which includes finalising your design and settling contracts) take 10 to 14 weeks. While we can deliver a standard 220-square-metre build in 20 weeks, a custom build will vary in time depending on its size, complexity and location. Your consultant will give you an accurate guide to timelines during your pre-build meetings.
Volume builders deliver relatively cheap new homes, which suits many people – particularly young families – well. They focus on affordability, which often means very basic standard inclusions, less quality control, and no customisation or modifications. That emphasis on cost also means they often hire subcontractors who charge less – which isn’t a good thing if you care about craftsmanship.
Volume builders aren’t always upfront about pricing, either. The advertised price you see on a builder’s website is often the absolute bare minimum, with everything from sewage connections to air con and council fees being omitted. Many people end up paying substantially more (sometimes in the realm of six figures) than they were originally quoted.
Custom builders focus on quality, which they deliver by charging more than volume builders. If you want that level of craftsmanship but don’t have the budget for a fully bespoke design, look for custom builders like us that also offer standard designs.
Our advertised prices include everything you need to walk in and start using the property. We also have standard inclusions that volume builders don’t, like 3-kilowatt solar, plumbing to your fridge, and 90-millimetre steel framing (rather than the softwood frames used by some other builders). It’s why, excluding aspects like variations and upgrades, our standard design prices are 95% finalised.
Before you sign a build contract, it’s a good idea to interview at least 3 different custom home builders. Don’t let tactics like pressure-selling and time-limited offers affect your decision. Building a new home will probably be one of the biggest financial choices you make – choosing the right builder is worth it.
